Tracing unfamiliar bends of the Thames
The river cuts a familiar line through London, yet moving past the usual landmarks reveals a different rhythm entirely. From the water, the city’s architectural layers shift, exposing quiet, unhurried pockets of the capital.
We spent the afternoon following the Thames beyond our usual boundaries. Away from the central rush, the riverfront opens up into industrial remnants and new glass horizons. The low afternoon light caught the wake of the boat, casting sharp reflections against the concrete banks and dark water. There is a strange, grounding stillness in watching a familiar city unfold from an unfamiliar angle, where the tide dictates the pace.
It was a day defined not by grand gestures, but by the steady, observational drift into parts of the city we had never seen before.
